According to a communiqué issued by the Association of Automobile Producers and Importers (APIA), with 10,532 units sold in June (up by 10.8 percent month-on-month), the H1 sales reached a total volume of 47,037 units, up by 32.4 percent. The growth was mainly due to auto vehicle sales, which registered a growth of 35.7 percent (+63 percent for locally-made auto vehicles and +26 percent for imported auto vehicles). In the case of auto vehicle sales, Dacia tops the brand rankings with 13,313 units (34 percent of the total), followed by Volkswagen (3,927 units, 10 percent), Skoda (3,626 units, 9.2 percent), Ford (2,685 units, 6.8 percent), Renault (2,619 units, 6.7 percent) and Opel (1,629 units, 4.2 percent).

When it comes to car models, Dacia Logan is the best-selling model in June and in H1, followed by Dacia Sandero, Dacia Duster, Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Golf. Most of the segments are registering important growth, especially when it comes to the classes with volume sales (B +57.5 percent, C + 44.4 percent, and SUV +15.2 percent), drops being registered on segments such as executive (-10.1 percent), mono-volume (-20.6 percent) and sport (-40 percent).

Ordered by types of fuel, after six months diesel engines register a share of 55.6 percent, a slight drop from 56.2 percent in 2013. “A new analysis we are making on the situation registered in H1 consists of the evolution of sales based on the engine’s cylindrical capacity. We thus note that small and medium engines are increasingly gaining ground against the backdrop of technological progress,” the APIA release adds. (source: nineoclock.ro)
