Compared to October 2015, the average net wage went up by 12.7%, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INS).

The highest average net salary was recorded in the IT sector, reaching RON 5,513 (EUR 1,226). The lowest level, of RON 1,281 (EUR 285) was in the hotel and restaurant sector.

The highest average wage growth in October was recorded in the coal mining industry, +4.8% compared to September. The highest drop, of 26.5%, was recorded in the oil and gas extraction sector.

In the public sector, the average salary went up by 4.4% in healthcare and social assistance, by 3.3% in education, and by 0.4% in public administration. (source: Romania-insider.com)
