The general manager of Olympus Romania, Ilias Pliatsikas, has recently declared for Profit.ro, that there were investments plans for the factory in Hălchiu, Brașov county, with a value of EUR 10 million for the next two years. Moreover, the company also considers the possibility of increasing the number of employees, currently reaching around 300 persons.

 

Last year, the factory has EUR 77 million turnover, with 12 pct. more than in 2014, Ilias Pliatsikas also said. Currently, 6o pct. of the production goes to export, in countries such as Italy, Germany and Austria.

 

Shareholders of the company are Michail and Dimitrios Sarantis (with 2.3 pct of shares), Tyras SA (with 16.7 pct), Aneta Kampagianni and Paraskevi Lappa (each with 0.78 pct) and Hellenic Dairies (77 pct.).

 

The Greek group, founded by Sarantis family in 1950, is present on the Romanian market since 1999. In 2011, the Greeks have opened the factory in Brașov, following an initial investment of EUR 55 million.

 

The main competitors for Olympus, on a market estimated at EUR 800 million, are FrieslandCampina (Napolact), Albalact, Covalact, Danone. (source: profit.ro)
