Argeş has exports exceeding EUR 5 billion, but without Dacia and its suppliers the local economy would be like the rest of the “platoon” in a top which speaks about the gap between the counties in the country and the dependence of the economy on large investors.

Iaşi, the academic capital of Moldavia, has exports of only EUR 700 million, and the growth since 2013 is only of 5 pct, in line with the market, while in Prahova, for instance, the influence of the industrial parks could be seen in the 18 pct growth, almost four times bigger than the market pace. Iaşi has attracted in the latest years investments in IT and service centers, but the industry remains frail.

The counties with the lowest exports are Gorj, Mehedinţi and Giurgiu, with less than EUR 150 million annually, but also the counties in Moldova and Southern Romania are weak in attracting investments with export potential. (Source: zf.ro)
