CargoPlanning is a collaborative online platform that helps factories and retailers in their procurement and transportation planning process, along with shippers. It covers the whole transport cycle, starting with the process of searching and acquisition of these kind services (through auctions and price negotiations), day-to-day activities (allocation of each transport to the logistics partners), up to truck monitoring, cargo loading /unloading and analytics.

Romanian brands among the biggest customers of the CargoPlanning platform

The platform is developed by an IT company from Iasi, Nima Software, and this month celebrates 2 years since the launch of the product on the market.

In September, the company was selected under the incubation program Startarium Inc. initiated by Impact Hub Bucharest, following a competition involving some 150 other businesses. The development plans within this program are aimed at doubling the number of clients and internationalizing business by autumn next year. With this stage, a part of the CargoPlanning team relocated to Bucharest, where the company also opened a new branch in order to be closer to potential partners in the area, as well as to the locations in Europe targeted for the expansion of the business.

"We start the third year with a clear objective: we want CargoPlanning to be the first freight platform in Romania and among the first options for European companies. Our motivation and energy is also fueled by the trust our partners give us, and among the companies that just joined we can mention: Valvis Holding, the Aqua Carpatica brand owner, and the largest pavement producer in the country, ELIS Pavaje," said Valerica Motoc, Sales & Operations Manager at CargoPlanning.

Besides these, Vrancart Adjud and Delaco Romania are currently using the application, but also the most important providers of transport services in Romania.

Since the launch in 2015, there have been around 3700 users, with shipments of over 7 MIL EUR and 1 MIL tonnes of goods traded through the platform.

Within the platform, a user who manufactures or trade goods, explore different transport solutions and schedules this process along with its suppliers. In most cases, these operations are done by phone, email and centralized into an excel or agenda. The application optimizes these processes and gives users time to focus on other business segments, increasing delivery quality or lowering shipping costs and delivery time.

CargoPlanning is a necessary tool for factories and retailers (companies with at least 10 daily shipments), warehouse management companies and they want to have real-time control of trucks that load and unload their goods.

Strategic Partnerships and International Development for 2018

From a strategic point of view, by the end of the year, the company expects a 20% increase in transport transactions to end in the platform. For 2018, CargoPlanning team aims to establish strategic partnerships with transport and logistics organizations and consultants, partners to accelerate growth in the Romanian market and launch the product on the European level.

"We are interested to connect with related businesses along with which we can offer a complete solution to our potential customers and with whom to innovate in the digital logistics market", said Valerica Motoc, Sales & Operations Manager.
