“As of today, CFR Marfa is in partnership with the railway transport company for goods from Lithuania and will all similar companies included in the project to transport goods from the Baltic area to Turkey, for instance,” said Ramona Manescu, who represented Romania at the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council.

The Romanian official added that until the present the project had avoided Romania because there was no route by which goods from Baltic States to Turkey and farther to Asia by transiting Romania. “As part of this project, all goods will transit Romania which means economic development, collaboration and intensifying the transport of goods”, said minister Manescu.

CFR Marfa will take over the transport of goods through Romania. In case investments are needed to improve and equip railway cars or containers they will carried out, she pointed out. (source: actmedia.eu)
