The new building, with an area of 7,000 sq, includes labs on more than 1,000 sq, m and an office area for 400 engineers.

The works started in March 2014 and were completed in October.

The Continental centre in Sibiu is now covering an area of more than 12,000 sq. m, including the new construction.

„We succeeded in growing annually with over 1,000 employees throughout all the company’s activities in Romania. As we increased our R&D activities in Romania, the number of employees has registered a growth up to approx. 4,000 persons in Iaşi, Sibiu and Timişoara, which plays an important part in the global structure of R&D Continental. This expansion highlights the importantce of Sibiu for our activities in Romania and offers us the chance to continuously grow in this area“, said Christian von Albrichsfeld, the research and development director of Conti­nental Romania.
