The net profit rose by 56.7% to EUR 16 million, according to the producer’s preliminary financial statements released yesterday.

In 2015, the company recorded a turnover of EUR 88 million and a net profit of EUR 10.2 million.

Zentiva Bucharest saw an operating profit of EUR 20 million last year, up 47% compared to the previous year. It was positively influenced by the higher sales in the local market, as well as the increase in exports.

At the end of 2016, French group Sanofi, announced that it has put up for sale its Zentiva generics division, which includes the factory in Romania. According to the most recent reports, the French pharma group Sanofi-Aventis owns directly and indirectly a stake of 81.6% in Zentiva. (source: Romania-insider.com)
