Ford announced in the spring of this year that starting in 2019, it will produce a second model at its factory in Craiova, in addition to the Ecosport SUV that is currently exported across the European continent.
Ford will invest a total of 200 million euros to adapt the plant and will need another 1,500 employees for the new model. However, Szabo insists that Ford needs better road infrastructure to be able to export cars faster and more efficiently to Western European countries.

"Infrastructure remains a weak point. We need an express road to Pitesti, a belt in Bals and Slatina and faster operations at Curtici," he added, referring to the Curtici crossing point.

For now, Piteşti - Craiova Express Road exists only on paper, and the project foresees a duration of at least 3 years for carrying out the works. (source: automarket.ro)
