In the first semester of 2015, the FOB and CIF commercial deficit was of 3292.1 million euro, 441.1 million euro more than in the first semester of 2014.

 In June 2015, FOB exports were of 4767.0 million euro and CIF imports were of 5486.9 million euro, a commercial deficit of 719.9 million euro being registered.

Compared to May 2015, exports increased by 6.3% and imports increased by 9.0% in June 2015.

The deficit of the Romanian balance of trade hit 3.292 billion euros in the first six months, up 441.1 million euros from Jan.-June 2014, show figures published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Monday.

Exports and imports were up 5.9 percent by this mid-year, marking 6.9 percent increase from the same period last year, the INS added.

While FOB exports totaled 27.029 billion euros, CIF imports amounted to 30.321 billion euros in the six months of this year.

The INS figures also reveal that FOB exports stood at 4.767 billion euros in this June and CIF imports totaled 5.486 billion euros, thus resulting in 719.9 million euros deficit.

The exchange of goods inside the European Union (EU28) in the first half-year stood at 19.890 billion euros worth of shipments and 23.329 billion euros in receipts, accounting for 73.6 percent of overall exports and 76.9 percent of overall imports.

The exchanges of goods outside the European Union (EU28) in the first six months were worth 7.139 billion euros in exports and 6.992 billion euros in imports, accounting for 26.4 percent of total exports and 23.1 percent of total imports.

According to the INS, major shares in the Romanian exports and imports Jan. through June were held by machinery and transport equipment (44.6 pct of exports and 36.7 pct of imports) and other manufactured products (33.2 pct of exports and 31.5 pct of imports). (source: actmedia.eu)
