The group has been present in Romania since 2011, through a factory located in Arad, Nădab. The construction of the new packing film production unit is part of Guala Pack's investment expansion plan in Romania and its neighboring countries, amid rising demand across the region.

The investment will be funded by a € 14 million bond issue, which was fully subscribed by SACE Simest, the export and internationalization division of the Italian state-owned banking group CDP (House of Deposits and Loans).

Guala Pack has factories in Italy, Romania, Ukraine, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, China and Costa Rica. Romania's subsidiary concluded business last year with 164.86 million lei and a net gain of 9.7 million lei, rising from 9.5 million lei in 2017. The company has about 270 employees.
