The company also has logistic centers in Chiajna, Nedelea (near Ploiesti), Iernut (near Tg. Mures) and Lugoj, a center opened last year after investments of about 20 million euros.

Opening the new logistics center will create over 200 new jobs.

The building will have a total built area of 44,960.00 square meters, on a 132,000 sqm land area and will serve 50 Lidl stores in the eastern part of the country.

"Our commitment to the environment since our entry into the Romanian market is a factor that guides us in all business operations. The Roman warehouse, like all of our new buildings, is thought to be a sustainable building, starting with the choice of location, allowing the logistics to become more efficient, to the technologies that will be used during construction and those that will be implemented in daily activities once it becomes functional", said Frank Wagner, Chairman of Lidl Romania.

Similar to the logistics center inaugurated last year in Lugoj, the warehouse will benefit from special lockers for employees, as well as a cafeteria with an area of approximately 138 sqm with an outdoor terrace of 100 sqm, where employees can have lunch. In addition, Lidl will arrange a 1,115 square meter sports court in the inner courtyard of the warehouse.
