The new logistics center serves 50 stores in the area of Moldova and is Lidl's fifth warehouse in Romania, after Chiajna, Iernut, Nedelea and Lujoj.

With a total built area of over 45,000 sqm, on a 133,000 sqm land area, Lidl's new logistics center is located in Cordun, in the immediate vicinity of Roman. The warehouse is in proximity to the European road E85, a strategic position that allows the average product transport distance to be kept less than 150 kilometers, and streamlines the distribution process in the country's eastern area.
"Part of our sustainable business strategy, efficiency is one of the guiding principles we have in our expansion business, so the construction of Lidl's first warehouse in Moldova has come as a natural step, due to the growing pace of our network of stores. Positioning the logistics center near the E85 road enables us to optimize vehicle paths and, implicitly, helps us to reduce the environmental impact. At the same time, like all the new buildings in our portfolio, this was also achieved using advanced building technologies", said Vincent Martin, Regional Manager, Lidl Romania.  (source: retail-fmcg.ro)
