Galați sees major industrial investment

Galați's industrial sector is receiving a notable boost with the official opening of Lio-Metal's new production factory. This Romanian metallurgical firm has invested approximately 5 million euros in the facility, developed with financial support from ING Bank.

The new plant is a significant upgrade, replacing the company's older premises. It spans over 7,000 square meters, offering considerable space for manufacturing operations. With an impressive annual production capacity estimated at around 25,000 tons, the factory is poised to become a key player in the regional metallurgical output.

Growth and opportunity in Galați

Lio-Metal's investment is a strong indicator of confidence in the local market and future growth. The company projects a substantial increase of approximately 50% in its total production volume over the next two years, driven by the capabilities of the new factory.

Currently employing 52 people, the facility specializes in producing a range of metal products, including welded pipes, sheet metal rolls and strips, profiled sheet metal, special press brake profiles, and reinforcements for PVC profiles. This specialization highlights the diversity of industrial activities thriving in Galați.

Implications for businesses seeking space

The expansion of companies like Lio-Metal underscores Galați's potential as an industrial hub. Increased manufacturing activity typically generates demand for related services, suppliers, and logistics, which in turn can drive the need for industrial, warehouse, and office spaces in the area. For businesses considering relocating or expanding, this investment signifies a dynamic and growing local economy with potential opportunities for synergy and growth.
