"The closure of the Timisoara production unit is an extremely difficult decision, taken after thorough analysis and after all alternatives have been implemented. Locally, Nestlé operates on a market that is experiencing a period of rapid change, characterized by new patterns of consumption and labor shortages, in a competitive environment.", said Leszek Wacirz, Country Manager of Nestlé Romania.

The leadership informed employees of the intention to shut down the plant and started talks with the union and employees to find the optimal solution for the 388 targeted individuals.

The production unit in Timisoara was acquired by Nestlé in 2000 and has an annual production of over 10,000 tons of sweets and coffee. (source: tion.ro)
