“Offers will be submitted 43 days from now, then in minimum 50 days they will evaluated by CNADR, contestations may be submitted two or three months after that moment, and the feasibility study will be made within 4 months. This means the interval November 2014 -April 2015. Works might begin in September-October 2015. The completion deadline is 24 months, so works might be finalised by October-November 2017,” Dan Sova explained, quoted by economica.net.

According to the minister, the documentations for putting to auction the feasibility studies of the motorway segments Ungheni – Iasi – Targu Neamt, Targu Neamt – Ditrau and Ditrau – Targu Mures were sent to ANRMAP, which will validate them and post them in the Electronic System of Public Acquisitions.

Sova added that Iasi will be crossed by three motorways. “Three motorways will cross Iasi County. For two of them we already launched the procedures, while for the third the documentation is at ANRMAP. The motorway Targu Mures – Targu Neamt was proposed by me to Premier Victor Ponta, to be financed from the excise duty. I believe the proposal will be accepted,” Dan Sova mentioned, also referring to the segments Bacau – Pascani and Pascani – Siret. In his turn, the mayor of Iasi, Gheorghe Nichita said that Moldavia will be connected by motorways with both the South and West.

Currently, the connection between Moldavia and Transylvania goes along DN 15B – DN 15 and DN 15 – DN 12C – DN 13B, which hardly cope with the increased traffic flows. The Targu Mures – Iasi – Ungheni motorway becomes an attractive alternative for the international transit traffic that will follow the Pan-European Transport Corridors IV and IX.
