The logistics center is in the construction phase, to be put into operation in stages, starting from January 2024. By the end of next year, it will be fully functional and integrated with the dairy factory owned by the company in the immediate vicinity.

The hub in Braşov is meant to make storage and logistics processes more efficient, while also reducing energy consumption, in order to minimize the impact on the environment. It will serve the local market, as well as all the countries where Olympus dairy products manufactured in Romania are exported, including Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain, Bulgaria or Serbia.

With a built area of over 13,500 square meters, the new center is a complex logistics project, which will also include a high-bay warehouse, with an area of approximately 6,000 square meters, fully automated, with a controlled temperature between +2 and +4 degrees. Once the investment is completed, it will be one of the largest high-bay cold storages in Romania, with a capacity of over 32,000 pallets.

"The new logistics center in Brasov county is yet another proof of our commitment to Romania and the importance it has in our strategic plans. At the same time, the start of this investment aligns with our sustainability strategy, focused on reducing the carbon footprint , the creation of environmentally friendly packaging and recycling. Olympus will continue to focus on quality, innovation and sustainability," said Adrian Cornea, Plant Manager of the Braşov Dairy Factory.

High-bay warehouses allow the storage of large volumes in a minimum of floor space, on shelves with a height of over 12 meters, with the help of automatic cranes. This type of logistics solution has several advantages, including a very good optimization of space, fast and safe access to products, 24/7 availability, reduction of the distances to be traveled to deliver or transport goods or low energy consumption.

The Halchiu Dairy Factory, in Brasov County, was inaugurated in 2011, as a result of a Greenfield investment of over 55 million euros. In the 12 years of activity, the total investments have reached over 140 million euros, being mainly directed to the latest generation equipment for the collection and processing of milk, as well as to advanced technologies for packaging the finished products .
