The new route will connect the main economic region of Romania, three times per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (200 freight loading units) with the Ruhr area, offering an attractive alternative to road freight. The company also planned for the following months an increase of transport frequencies by five rotations per week.

Rail transports will be operated through rotation between the terminals Duisburg Rheinhausen and Railport Arad, the clients benefiting from smaller transit periods.

Situated at the border of Romania with Hungary, the Railport Arad terminal, part of Cargo Center in Curtici and of the terminal network of Rail Cargo Group, functions as an important hub for freight to South-Eastern Europe.

Due to its favourable connection to the road and rail transport network, the terminal in Arad represents one of the most important European logistics centres. This terminal serves economic areas such as Arad and Timișoara, as well as other important regions in Romania and Germany. (source: intermodal-logistic.ro)
