In Estonia there 60 manufacturing companies per 1,000 inhabitants, in Portugal there are over 50, and in Austria 40, according to EC data. Therefore Romania is among EU countries with fewest manufacturing companies per 1,000 inhabitants.

“I expected Romania to be among countries with the fewest small manufacturing companies since our entrepreneurial culture is still young. Moreover, there is no know-how in production, regardless of domain. Such business requires significant investment and there are delicate aspects such as sanitary norms. It is easier to import and distribute,” says Catalin Mihai, who four years ago founded the brand Les Saveurs d’Yveline, a small factory manufacturing jam. (source: actmedia.eu)
