Among the members for which data are available, industrial production fell in twelve and rose in thirteen. The largest decreases were registered in Portugal (-11.2 per cent), Luxembourg (-4.1 per cent), Croatia (-3.3 per cent) and the Czech Republic (-2.8 per cent), while the highest increases in Ireland (+2.9 per cent), Romania (+2.4 per cent), Hungary (+1.8 per cent) and Poland (+1.4 per cent).

 In September 2013 compared with September 2012, production of non-durable consumer goods grew by 2.2 per cent in the euro area and by 1.7 per cent in the EU 28.

Intermediate goods rose by 0.9 per cent and 1.0 per cent respectively.
