At a special conference organized by ‘ZF’ daily, Stroe pointed out that this value was 7 per cent higher year-on-year. Of the total value, Automobile Dacia-Renault had a turnover of EUR 4 bln, Ford had a turnover of approximately EUR1 bln, while the auto parts industry had a turnover of EUR 12.6 bln.

The biggest turnover was registered by the auto parts sector. In this sector the turnover had a value of almost EUR 13 bln, in contrast to only EUR 7 bln four years ago.

In Romania there are currently over 600 auto parts companies. The most important of them from the standpoint of the number of employees are Draxlmaier (15,000 employees) and Continental (12,000). The export of auto parts closed in on USD 9 bln last year, the rise being important compared to 2011 back when it stood at USD 6 bln.

Over 100,000 persons work in the Romanian auto sector and the newest investments have been channeled in several key regions – Sibiu, Brasov, Cluj, Arges, Timis, Olt, Arad – the novelty being the fact that investments were made in Moldavia too. The rhythm of investments in the auto parts sector was higher than the one seen in other regional countries. (source: nineoclock.ro)
