It reached a quarter of the local roof systems market, which increased by 10% in the same period, according to the company’s estimates. Home renovations drove the market upwards, but new residential and industrial projects also returned to growth.

“Our turnover in the first six months was equal to what we had in the first four years of activity (2007-2010) together. This performance is a result of over EUR 9 million investments we have made in the eight years of activity,” said Horatiu Tepes, Bilka’s owner.

At the end of June, Bilka inaugurated a new production line for metallic tiles. This is part of a EUR 7 million investment program that will end in 2016. The company will open seven new production lines in the second half of this year, and launch three new roof tile models.

The company also plans to buy or lease new land plots next to its factory, to expand its warehouses. Bilka’s factory currently stretches over 45,000 sqm, which include production facilities, warehouses, and offices.

Last year, the company produced over 4 million sqm of roof tiles and had a turnover of over EUR 30 million. (source: romania-insider.com)
