Most Romanians still choose to pay cash for the products or services they order online, according to online payment processor PayU Romania.

 

Between April 2015 and March 2016, the company processed over EUR 266 million worth of transactions, up 44% year-on-year. Most clients bought IT&C products. These accounted for over 40% of the total online orders, and the shopping cart value on this segment was about EUR 155, three times higher than the general average.

 

The products in the fashion & beauty category ranked second, followed by home decor products, children items, and books.

 

The average value of the online shopping basket grew by almost a third reaching over EUR 57.5, according to PayU Romania. (source: Romania-insider.com)
