According to a press release, the new plant represents a total investment worth RON 83.4 M, with 32.8 million lei accounting for non-refundable governmental funding. The production facility has been equipped with the latest technology on the market in 2012, with the total value of the machines standing at EUR 15,4 M.

This new production unit is specially designed to manufacture batteries for the cars equipped with start-stop technology and regenerative breaking system. These systems are used by car manufacturers in order to meet the mandatory EU requirement of reducing CO2 emissions to 120g CO2/km.

 

By opening the new production facility, the company has as a main target the ability to meet the requirements of the future market, by being already prepared to deliver 700,000 batteries annually using EFB and AGM top technologies. (source: nineoclock.ro)
