The new facility, built on the infrastructure acquired from Somaco Holding, transforms an unexploited industrial space into a modern production hub, with four halls and a delivery capacity of approximately 50 product trucks per day. The integration of three high-performance photovoltaic parks provides 70% of the hub's energy needs, reflecting Symmetrica's commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.
"The takeover, modernization and re-engineering of the factory acquired from Somaco Holding represented a strategic step for Symmetrica. We expanded production capacity, created new jobs and revitalized the industrial tradition of the area. It is proof that long-term investments can generate real economic and social impact for the community," said Sebastian Bobu, Symmetrica's Executive Director.
Symmetrica’s largest industrial center – a regional development engine
With an area of 30 hectares, the Doaga industrial center becomes the largest production platform in the Symmetrica portfolio and a landmark for the industry. The two factories – Doaga 1 (inaugurated in 2018) and Doaga 2 (operational from 2025) – integrate four production halls and a storage hall, ensuring a daily capacity of 500 cubic meters of products intended for infrastructure projects carried out at national level.
The new factory’s portfolio includes precast concrete for water and sewage infrastructure, elements for road infrastructure and poles for overhead power lines (OPL), extending Symmetrica’s expertise in essential segments of the national infrastructure.
The new unit will generate 50 new jobs, raising the total number of employees in the Doaga center to 130 and offering professional development opportunities in an area with significant industrial potential, which needed redevelopment.
Green investments and leadership in sustainability
The integration of photovoltaic parks at Doaga confirms Symmetrica's strategy to promote green solutions and reduce energy dependence. In recent years, the company has invested over 6 million euros in 12 photovoltaic parks nationwide, consolidating its status as a responsible leader in the transition to economic sustainability.
"The integration of photovoltaic parks is not only a cost-effective solution, but also a firm statement about our role as a responsible leader. With 70% energy independence at Doaga, we demonstrate that economic performance and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand," emphasized Sebastian Bobu.
Accelerated Expansion and Regional Leadership
The new factory in Doaga complements Symmetrica’s largest investment to date: the completion of the factory in Bolintin Vale, Giurgiu – the largest production center in South-Eastern Europe, built following an investment of almost 50 million euros. This will add 30% to the company’s production capacity and strengthen Symmetrica’s position on the regional and European market.
Through constant investments in modernization and expansion, Symmetrica reconfirms its status as an industry leader, supporting the development of national infrastructure and offering high-quality solutions for projects in Romania and the region.
