With three plants in Buzau, Arad and Ploiesti, the agricultural cooperative produces Romanian dairy worth 500,000 euros per month. In 2017, Tara Mea registered a turnover of 26 million euros", reads a press release from the unit.
"The two-million-euro investment will be allocated to improve dairy production technology, ie brushing, weighing, packing, etc. technologies and for energy resources, raw materials and human resources to achieve a time-quality-quantity ratio as much as possible", said Florin Burculescu, President of My Country Cooperative.
According to the official, the Berca factory in Buzau, which required an initial investment of 3 million euros, produces between 60 and 80 tonnes of dairy products a month and has almost 100 employees. "The Arad factory invested 4 million euros, and the Ploiesti factory, with an investment of 200,000 euros, is a pilot project in which Romanian specialties are hand-crafted after traditional long-forgotten recipes. A dairy factory is being built in Barlad to deliver over 80 tons a month. The factory will be ready in two months and required an investment of 7 million euros", the press release added.
The cooperative has developed as a unique business in Romania since 2015. "Today, under the coordination of the cooperative, there are approximately 350 farmers active in the cultivation of vegetables, dairy production and pork and poultry processing. They formed by themselves a cooperative of the same name, in a project inspired by models from Spain, France, Italy, but also from Communist Romania", the representatives of the company have mentioned.
"The aim of the cooperative is, on the one hand, to increase the production and consumption of Romanian products, healthy, of a net quality superior to the imported ones, and - on the other hand - to support a solid economic growth for both the Romanian producers and for the country's economy.
