“Hyperion was built in Craiova based on the latest technology according to the European standards for interoperability. It represents a revolution in the Romanian rail transportation, being the first electrical multiple unit train built on the local market, in two speed versions: of maximum 160 km/h, respectively 120 km/h. Hyperion is composed by two motor cars and two trailer cars, with the capacity of 180 chairs. The passengers will benefit from an interior with modern facilities, air conditioning installation for each car, a high level of comfort and optimal transportation conditions. Hyperion is comparable to any European modern train, also offering the passengers free Wi-Fi”, stated Ionel Ghita, Board President at Softronic.

The total investment for the construction of Hyperion was over EUR 5 million. Currently, the train is finalized and undergoing speed tests. Hyperion will be made available for commercial use in February 2014.
