WDP projects an investment of some 40 million euros for this development.
WDP will be expanding the car tyre manufacturer’s existing production facility in Slatina with a 62,000 m² state-of-the-art new-build warehouse. The project forms part of an ongoing expansion of Pirelli’s – listed in Italy – largest and most important production facility.
The newly built warehouse will be constructed right next to the existing Pirelli facility in Slatina, and both will be directly connected. Pirelli’s investments in recent years have boosted activities at this site, making expansion necessary.
The new building will house inbound and outbound logistics alongside space reserved for production activities.
The Pirelli site in Slatina is situated west of Bucharest, alongside the Craiova-Pitesti motorway.
Following completion of the project — which is scheduled for the third quarter of 2020 — Pirelli will lease the new logistics facility for a fixed term of fifteen years. WDP projects an investment budget of some 40 million euros, based on a return in line with market conditions.
Jeroen Biermans, General Manager of WDP in Romania, said: “The realisation of this new-build warehouse will enable Pirelli to optimise its main production site and future-proof this facility”. (source: WDP)
