The 600,000-euro investment is being carried out in cooperation with Mainfreight Romania logistics and transport company. The decision to expand and automate the Service Center has the impact of increasing productivity by almost 70% .

The pallet reconditioning line meets the modernization needs of the local Supply Chain. The equipment automatically completes a route for inspection, repair, painting of reconditioned pallets, as well as recycling of unusable items, the activity being supervised by technical operators according to the global quality standards imposed by the logistics provider.

"Investing in the Ploiesti warehouse and expanding the strategic partnership with Mainfreight guarantees that in the future we will provide quality logistics services as well as permanent availability of pallets, anticipating the positive evolution of the market," says Gabriel Andronescu, country general manager of CHEP Romania.

The CHEP logistics provider registered a turnover of 53.7 million lei from the lease of re-usable pallets for the financial year ended June 30, 2017, up 35% over the previous year, when revenues amounted to 39.9 million of lei.

The volume of leased pallets increased by 35% over the same period last year.
