New demand grew by 51% in the first half, to 229,800 square meters, and accounted for almost 65% of the total area traded during this period.
"Demand in the industrial and logistics market has exceeded our estimates, rents in the first half of the year being above our projected level for the whole of 2017. So if we keep up the growth rate so far, we might be witnessing a new record of the demand, given that last year the companies leased about 460,000 square meters, representing a historic maximum", said Costin Bănică, Industrial Depzrtment Director of JLL Romania.

From the point of view of the new offer, three projects totalling 72,000 square meters have been delivered in Romania since the beginning of the year, and another 312,000 square meters are due to be completed by the end of the year.

The new demand for industrial premises has exceeded more than 3 times the new offer on the market, so that the vacancy rate remains extremely low, new delivered projects are already occupied by the tenants. The modern stock of industrial and logistics space is 2.7 million square meters.

Nearly 70% of the area of logistics and industrial space leased in the first six months is in projects in Bucharest, and 10% in West and Northwest (Cluj, Oradea, Timisoara). (source: profit.ro)
