Following the transaction, Lucian Baltaru, CEO of Sameday Courier, holds 20% of shares, and eMAG 80%, Octavian Bădescu selling its stake. Sameday Courier had a turnover of EUR 1.9 million in 2015 and a profit of over EUR 100,000, according to data from the Ministry of Finance. In the first half of 2016, the company announced a turnover of 1.34 million Euros and a profit of over 200 thousand Euros.

Sameday Courier will continue its development as an independent brand and will continue to develop premium courier services.
"The courier market entered the era of consolidation and rapid growth, where customer needs have diversified and specialized. We have gained much visibility and have grown rapidly in recent years, bringing new delivery services to the market. Further, we needed a partner who could help us manage this rapid development. For us, the transaction is a recognition of Sameday's team, service quality and development potential ", said Lucian Baltaru, CEO and shareholder Sameday Courier.

"It is an opportune moment in the market and the company can grow faster with an important investment. We had several deals that we took together with Lucian to find the right partner to take the company to the next level. With eMAG, we immediately resonated on two planes: they have the operational know-how that will develop Sameday and the pro-client approach that we have also taken over from the beginning, "said Octavian Badescu, founder of Sameday Courier.

"Sameday Courier has a valuable team, good products and a basis on which we can build premium services complementing today's delivery options that will bring value to e-commerce, as well as to other industries. We will invest in technology and the team to bring these services on the market as soon as possible.
We will also continue to develop the strategic partnership with courier companies in the market, as the number of orders increases at an accelerated rate, with over 50% from year to year, "said Iulian Stanciu, eMAG CEO. (Source: capital.ro)
