According to the source, direct investments of non-residents in Romania amounted to 5,145 billion euros (compared with 5,017 billion euros between January and November 2018), out of which equity investments (including estimated net reinvested profit) totaled 4,496 billion euros and intra-group loans recorded the net value of 649 million euros.

In the first 11 months of 2019, the number of companies with newly established foreign capital decreased by 2.11%, compared to the same period of the previous year, to 5,096 units. The 5,096 new companies had a registered capital totaling $ 19.492 million, down 58.2% from January to November 2018.

The largest number of companies with foreign participation was with investors from Italy, respectively 48,655, but the highest value of the share capital is of Dutch companies, respectively 12.6 billion dollars, in 5,399 companies. At the end of November 2019, in Romania there were 226,430 companies with foreign participation in the share capital. The value of the subscribed capital was approximately $ 63.5 billion.
