UPS Romania officially inaugurated on Thursday the opening of a newly relocated regional facility in Timisoara that will continue to serve as an important connection for companies located in Western and Central Romania to international markets. This relocation strengthens UPS’s position as a leader in the local express delivery market.

“The regional center in Timisoara now boasts 400 square meters of space and provides larger operational capacity to serve companies located in Western and Central Romania,” said Tim Helsen, Country Manager, UPS Romania, according to a press release. “The relocation of this facility reinforces our commitment to businesses of all sizes in the region and is a part of UPS’s long-term strategy to help clients take advantage of a growing export economy.”

Operations in the new center, which is located in the Ghiroda neighbourhood near Timisoara “Traian Vuia” International Airport, include packing sorting, delivery, and collection for both UPS Express® and UPS Standard® shipments.

The UPS facility serves regional business from large multinational companies to SMEs, helping all of them connect to global markets through UPS’s worldwide network. UPS’s solutions are particularly suited to the main industries in this region, such as automotive components, electronic and high-tech products, textiles and professional services.

This investment follows a recent time-in-transit improvement for inbound shipments into two important business and industrial cities located in Western and Central of Romania, Oradea and Sibiu. (source: romaniajournal.ro)
