Major investment in Romanian industrial space

 

VAT Group, a Swiss-based global leader in vacuum valve manufacturing, has significantly expanded its international footprint by opening a new factory in Arad, Western Romania. Announced on June 5, this state-of-the-art facility represents VAT Group's third major operational hub, complementing its existing sites in Switzerland and Malaysia.

 

A look at the new Arad facility at VGP Park

 

The new factory is strategically located within VGP Park Arad, a development by industrial real estate specialist VGP. The site spans an impressive 21,000 square metres, designed to accommodate not only production halls but also essential support functions.

 

Key features of the new facility include: 21,000 sq m of production space, integrated offices and social areas, on-site cafeteria and gym, landscaped surroundings. Beyond manufacturing, the Arad hub is set to host engineering, IT, and supply chain operations, consolidating various business functions under one roof and emphasizing the trend towards integrated operational centers in modern industrial parks.

 

Current operations and future growth

 

While around 50 of VAT Romania's 380 employees are currently based at the new facility, the company plans a complete relocation of its team by the end of 2025. More importantly for the industrial real estate and labor market, VAT Group intends to double its production staff in Romania over the next three years as it scales up operations significantly.
