The document also entails the construction of expressways at a total estimated cost of EUR 9.935 bln (1,817 km), Trans-Regio roads at an estimated cost of EUR 1.7 bln (2,887 km), Euro-Trans roads at an estimated cost of EUR 190.1 M (343 km) and detours at an estimated cost of EUR 461 M (175.8 km).

 

The priority list includes the following highways: Sibiu-Pitesti (116.6 km, EUR 1.674 bln), Bacau-Pascani (81.2 km, EUR 485.22 M), Comarnic-Brasov (58 km, EUR 997.75 M), Sibiu-Brasov (120 km, EUR 816.44 M), Suplacu de Barcau – Bors (+Oradea) (74.5 km, EUR 304.43 M), Targu Neamt – Iasi – Ungheni (135 km, EUR 1.129 bln), Nadaselu – Suplacu de Barcau (93.3 km, EUR 1.003 bln), Craiova-Pitesti (124.3 km, EUR 899.41 M), Targu Mures – Targu Neamt (183.8 km, EUR 2.943 bln), Bucharest Beltway – A0 (102 km, EUR 1.335 bln), Brasov-Bacau (160 km, EUR 1.845 bln), Ploiesti-Comarnic (51.3 km, EUR 306.77 M).

 

The works on the Sibiu-Pitesti Highway are expected to start in 2017 and to be finished in 2020, while those on the Targu Neamt – Iasi – Ungheni Highway will start in 2017 and will end in 2019.

 

The priority list includes the following roads: expanding the Bucharest South beltway to 4 lanes, the road linking the A3 Highway to the Henri Coanda Airport, Constanta-Tulcea-Braila (including bridge over the Danube), Buzau-Focsani, Pascani-Suceava, Bucharest-Craiova, Suceava-Siret, Buzau-Braila (phase B2), Suceava-Botosani, Bacau-Piatra Neamt, Pitesti-Brasov etc.

 

The expansion of the Bucharest South beltway (35 km) to 4 lanes will start in 2016 and is expected to be completed in 2017. The contract has an estimated value of EUR 176 M.

 

The current Transport Master Plan draft entails the rehabilitation of 2,883 kilometers of railway at an estimated cost of EUR 10.740 bln. (Source: nineoclock.ro)
