The two sections have a cumulated length of only 10 kilometers and represent the two ends of the highway, the one leaving from Comarnic (some 4 km) and the one arriving in Cristian, near Brasov (some 6 km). Three other sections in between, which make a total of 47 kilometers and are also the hardest to build, will be auctioned at a later stage.

The total estimated value of the two sections currently auctioned would be between EUR 71 million and EUR 85 million, VAT not included, according to an official announcement. The investment will be covered from the state budget.

The contract includes both the projection and the execution of the two highway sections. Companies interested in the project can submit their offers by September 2. The deadline for finishing the work is 72 months from the date of the signing.

The state initially wanted to build the Comarnic-Brasov Highway through a public-private partnership, but all attempts made so far have failed. (Source: Romania-insider.com)
