2013 industry statistics: Orders and sales rose last year

Romanian industrial new orders increased 8.4% on the year in 2013, boosted by higher demand in most sectors, the country’s statistics institute INS said Thursday.

Eurostat: Romania ranks among first EU countries for high industrial production costs in December

Industrial production costs dropped by 0.8% in the euro zone and by 0.6% in EU in December 2013 compared to the same period of 2012. However Romania ranks among member states where those prices recorded the highest increases, according to data published by the European Statistics Office (Eurostat).

Industrial leasing activity up 82 pct in 2013 in Romania

Over 250,000 sqm of industrial space were leased in 2013, up 82 percent compared to the previous year but 3 percent below 2011 levels, according to CBRE Romania. Most of this (58 percent) was leased in Bucharest while the remaining 42 percent concentrated in major cities like Timisoara, Arad, Iasi, Brasov and Ploiesti.

Spanish car parts producer Antolin to build a factory in Sibiu

Parker Hannifin Manufacturing British company could build in Romania, in Cluj-Napoca Municipality (central-western Romania), a hydraulic cylinder plant. Company representatives are going to this area, where they will meet the County Council leadership and pay a visit to the technology park in the city, as well as the Tetrarom Industrial Park of Jucu Commune, Agerpres reports.
