INS: Industrial production, up 7%, in first ten months in 2014

Industrial production rose, in the first ten months of this year, compared to the same period in 2013 by 7% in unadjusted terms and by 8% in terms adjusted to the number of working days and seasonality, show the data released by the National Statistics Institute (INS).

Industrial production prices, decreasing

The industrial production prices in Romania have decreased in October with 0.4 pct. compared to September and they stalled compared to the same month of last year, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Ford to lay off 680 employees at Craiova plant; 20 pct of personel

American car maker Ford will fire 680 of its employees from the Craiova plant, where it currently employs 3,200 people. The company will launch a voluntary layoff program, and will commence the firings according to enrollment.

Eurostat: Romania, 5th place in EU in terms of industrial production growth in September

Industrial production in the European Union (EU 28) and in the Eurozone rose by 0.6% in September 2014 compared with August 2014, with Romania having been among the countries where the industrial production recorded the highest growth rates month on month, according to the data released on Wednesday by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat).
